Community App — the municipal app that never found its audience
Replacing the paper municipal bulletin with a local mobile app. Shipped, used by a few municipalities… then discontinued.
The story
The idea: make communication between Swiss municipalities and their residents easier than a paper bulletin. I led the mobile development, from prototype to store release, and the app was rolled out in a few municipalities.
It did not get the success we hoped for, and the project stopped.

The honest review
What workedThe app was shipped, published and used by real residents. Technically, it did what it was asked to do.
What got stuckThe market did not follow. A good app is not enough when adoption does not take off — you cannot win every time.
What I take from itBefore building, I now ask: who will use it, and why would they come back tomorrow? If the answer is vague, I tell you before I invoice you.
