Share A Dream → Alaya → Benevity

Alaya — from Share A Dream to the Benevity acquisition

A platform connecting companies and non-profits: volunteering, giving and employee engagement. The startup merged, grew, then got acquired.

The story

It started with Share A Dream, a platform connecting companies and non-profits: donations of goods, money and time. The project then merged to become Alaya, an employee-engagement suite sold to large companies, before being acquired by Benevity.

I worked on it as a full-stack developer, surrounded by a real team.

Unfiltered

The honest review

What workedThe product followed its market: from a grassroots tool for non-profits to a structured platform for large accounts. That maturity is what made the acquisition possible.
What I take from itIt is the only project here where I was not alone: I learned the craft there, within a team. Everything I later built solo comes from it.
